Sour Dough Bread Recipe

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all who came!  What fun we had.  For those of you who missed it...well let's just say no starter for you. ;)

Here is Joyce's recipe:

Put out the night before in a bowl and add 1/2 c. sugar and 1 c. water and add enough flour to make thick  like pancake batter.
Cover with cloth and let it sit out over night.
The next moarning put half of the dough back in the jar and refrigerate untill next time.
Next morning after you dividing add to remaining in the bowl: 1/3 c. sugar, 1/2 c.shortening (her sister uses oil) 1 1/2 c. water or 1 c. milk, 2 tsp salt.  Add enough flour to make a heavy dough.  Put out on floured surface and kneed until spongy. (Joyce does this in the same bowl)
Then cover with cloth and let it rise in a warm place.
Divide dough and place in greased pans and let rise again.
Place in cold oven 350, bake until golden about 45 minutes.

Great thing about this recipe is that you don't knead any kitchen equipment, just baking pans.

Soon we will post Joyce's Bananna Bread and LeGay's roll wheat or white.

Hope to see you all at our next activity!
